I had a pleasant trip to the Outer Banks, staying at a charming beach hotel. The room provided an amazing view and had great air conditioning, plus easy beach access and a nice pool. However, the bathroom was cramped, and the breakfast menu didn’t change all week, which got a little tiresome. Despite some drawbacks, the hotel was clean and a decent spot for a family vacation.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean with an amazing view, but the bathroom was uncomfortably small and awkward to navigate.
Service

The staff were accommodating and friendly, but my experience with breakfast was mixed since the options didn't change.
Location

The hotel is conveniently located near a public beach access, just a short walk away.

While the hotel's location is superb, just a short walk to the beach, my experience was mixed. The room was comfortable and newly remodeled, but the breakfast options were somewhat repetitive, and the dining area could use more attention. For a budget-friendly stay, it ticks many boxes, but don’t expect luxury or variety in meals.

Rooms
9.0
The room was clean, comfortable, and newly remodeled with two bedrooms and a full kitchen, perfect for families. I particularly appreciated the cozy Adirondack chair right outside our door.
Service
8.0
The staff was accommodating and always ensured we had clean towels, even when we opted out of full service. It felt like they genuinely wanted to help us enjoy our stay.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location is fantastic, just a short walk down a boardwalk to the beach, making it easy to head out for a day in the sun. However, parking can be a bit cramped at times with guests making their own spots.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast was decent but was the same every day, and there was a line for the waffle maker during busy times. It would have been nice to see some variety.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was enjoyable, but I noted that the depth markers were not accurate. Overall, the facilities were decent but not without their quirks.

6.0/10

During my stay, the hotel had some ups and downs. The rooms had a few cleanliness issues, and the breakfast left much to be desired. However, the team went above and beyond for guests during a marathon event. With its beachfront location, it offers a nice view, but the overall experience could certainly improve.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms, while spacious, were not very clean. I noticed stains on the bedding and issues with the bathroom cleanliness.
Service
9.0
The service was really attentive, especially when they made breakfast available early for the OBX marathon participants.
Location
7.0
The hotel is nicely situated on the beach, although our view was obstructed.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was underwhelming, with stale options and a lack of variety.
Facilities
5.0
The outdoor pool area could use some cleaning and updates, feeling overcrowded and not well-kept.

The hotel has great access to the beach and offers a decent breakfast selection. While the Virginia Dare Suite is spacious and family-friendly, I did encounter some issues with maintenance in other areas of the property. The pool could use some updates, but overall, it's a comfortable place for families looking to stay close to the ocean.

Rooms
8.0
The Virginia Dare Suite was spacious and beautifully set up, equipped with a full kitchen and two bathrooms, making it perfect for families. However, I did see signs of wear in other rooms.
Service
5.0
The service was a bit lacking in responsiveness when I encountered some issues, which was frustrating.
Location
10.0
The location is fantastic, just steps from the beach, making it very convenient for a beach vacation.
Dining

The breakfast offered a good variety such as waffles, eggs, and yogurt, but could get repetitive.
Facilities

The pool area was okay but needs some updating to feel more inviting.

I had a decent stay at the Days Inn - Mariner with some great highlights, especially its friendly staff and clean rooms. The outdoor pool was a nice touch, and the continental breakfast exceeded my expectations. However, the hotel's age shows with outdated furniture and tight space. Still, given the value for what I paid, I would stay again.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are old but very clean. They come equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave, which was handy. However, the space felt cramped, and the outdated decor made it less inviting.
Service
9.0
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, which I really appreciated.
Location
10.0
The hotel is perfectly located right by the ocean, making it easy to access the beach, which was a big plus. It's also centrally located within the Outer Banks.
Dining
8.0
The continental breakfast was above average with a nice selection, including a hot bar and a waffle station. It really hit the spot every morning.
Facilities
7.0
The outdoor pool was enjoyable, and it added a nice vibe to the hotel experience. Just wish the furniture in common areas was a bit more modern.
